Johann and Antonia Alberts

Head of Human Resources (80%), support of the Onobasulu project (20%) (Johann)

Reception, secretariat and management assistant (60%) (Antonia)

Johann studied at the STH Basel and graduated with a Master of Theology. Afterwards, together with his wife Antonia, he was pastor in the Chrischona congregation in Romanshorn for 24 years.
From 2015 to 2020 they lived and worked in Papua New Guinea. After returning, Johann will stay connected with the translation project of the Onobasulu language group with a 20% stint. The plan is to travel to PNG once a year for about a month to work with the translation team. The Onobasulu live in such isolation that collaboration via the Internet is not possible. We hope to complete the entire New Testament in 2024 or 2025. COVID has pretty much disrupted our plans here.
Since March 2021, Antonia and Johann have been working in the Wycliffe home office in Biel.

Our concern is that the Bible shapes the whole of life in all facets and thus God's kingdom spreads. We are happy that we can support the worldwide work of Bible translation, language research and literacy through our involvement in the home office.
