Biography

1991-2005 – Clyde and Gaye-Lynn Smith worked with the Samo people in Western Province of PNG. Gaye-Lynn passed on in May 2005.

1988-1997 – Johanna and Urs Wegmann also worked in PNG, among the Yau people of Morobe Province. Urs passed on in 2003.

2007-present: Clyde and Johanna get married, together they return to PNG to work among the Samo people. In 2012 we expanded our work in close relationship with, and under the authority of the biggest church denomination of the area – ECPNG. This area, referred to as the North Fly, includes the Samo and a number of other language communities. Our focus was on oral Bible translation in a multilingual society. In July 2018 we were fully seconded by Wycliffe to teach for a few years at the Christian Leaders‘ Training College CLTC (www.cltc.ac.pg) situated in Papua New Guinea’s highlands.
